Range bars now support weekend or session gaps

Up till now, range bars had one major problem – charts would look different for a specific day depending on how many days of data have been loaded from history, plus there was no way of visualizing inter-session gaps (or weekend gaps in Forex) This was unacceptable by stock and indexes traders, who needed information regarding trading session gaps.

Version 2.04 of the range bars plug-in for MT4 now features a new entry in the variables section, which has been added for daily reference consistency:

ResetOpenOnNewTradingDay – an optional feature, which ensures daily (or session) reference consistency. This is used to reflect the true daily (or session) open, high, low, and close values. To use the feature simply set ResetOpenOnNewTradingDay to TRUE.

    Hi,

I have a problem/enquiry with a range bar setting to do with resetOpenOnNewSession
    session_start_MM, and session_start_HH

    If I set this to:
    resetOpenOnNewSession: True
    session_start_MM: 01 (which reverts to just 1)
session_start_HH: 00 (which reverts to nothing)
This will not work with market opening on new session which is 00:01 here in Australia.

I have tried to set it to 1 minute past 12 “00 01” but the charts refresh every minute and overloads the CPU.

The closest settings I can use is 01 and 01 which is 1 hour after market opening, so I miss out on 1 hour of market data and misleading range bars.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

Hello. I am wondering if the 7 day trial is the basic or the pro version?

    Thank you

It is the PRO version, which includes support for tick data backtesting and StrategyQuant
